If I make a new account and transfer, do my followers also transfer automatically?

I'd like to make a new account to change my username. If I do this, will both my account followers as well as my playlist followers transfer automatically? I would rather not refollow people and have to wait for them to follow me back again. I have searched this question up multiple times in the community but it seems as though answers are contradicting.

I tried to find some alternatives on my end, but couldn't. You can transfer your content to the new account following these steps, however, you can't transfer your followers or playlist followers.

You can always create a new Idea about this here, and I'll also pass your feedback on to the right folks.

It would be so nice if Spotify will allow changing of usernames. To avoid abuse, then allow to change it every 3 or 6 months only. There are so many valid reasons why a user would change his/her username.
