Music quality for premium users declining?

Music quality for premium users declining?

When I first started the premium service, the sound quality at the highest bitrate sounded excellent.  Now, a few weeks later the quality has diminished considerably.  I am wondering why.  I have always been using a ipad wireless connection, so that has not changed.

 

Is there a way to tell what bit rate is being streamed?  I could try connecting directly to a computer, but I am curious why it has changed.

 

I hope that spotify does not lure you in with good quality initially, and then downgrade your service after you become a paying member.

Hi,

 

Premium users are able to stream higher quality audio than Free users. In the Spotify app, go to Settings -> Music Quality and make sure that you have selected 'High' or 'Extreme'.

Thank you for your reponse, but I already have the setting set to the highest level.  My point is that the quality of "Extreme" has seemingly degraded.  Music sounds worse than when I originally started my subscription.

I can't see the actual content being changed since your subscription was started, so it would point to an issue with the app possibly. Have any updates been installed after which you noticed the quality drop?
