My card was charged but do not have account created

My card was charged but do not have account created

Yesterday I tried to create a student premium account. I just got accepted to a graduate program.

 

While signing up, the system told me my student status could not be verified. I am trying to get documentation from my university.

 

In the meantime, my credit card was charged but according to my account "profile," I only have the free account.

 

Can someone tell me how I can get this corrected?

 

I would like my credit card credited and make sure I will not be keep getting charged until this is corrected and I get my student account.

 

Is there an actual phone number or a real human who responds to these messages? I tried sending an email to customer service through their online "form." All I am getting is an automated reply to go check out the online boards for help. How is that supposed to get this issue corrected?

Thanks for bringing this up and welcome to the Community.

 

It's a bit strange that your account is still on Free. Did you get a receipt from us after signing up?

 

We currently don't offer telephone support, but our Support team usually replies within 24-48 hours.

If you only got an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it saying you still need help and one of our folks will reach out to you.

I did get an email from the Support team after I posted my message, I am new to Spotify so I wasn't sure how the customer support worked, thank you for your instructions.

 

Yes, I still have the free account and no I did not get a receipt. It looks like maybe the bank is "holding" the monthly fee but Spotify has not charged my account as of yet. I will keep checking to see if the funds are released.

 

I have to figure out why my status as a student can't be verified by Spotify. I know my university is on the list of accredited universities so that is not the problem. It may be that I have not yet taken my first course (I am starting in January). I will try to upload my first tuition bill to see if that is sufficient documentation. Otherwise I will have to wait until I start the course and I can get some official documentation from the university.

 

I guess I will have to familiarize myself with Twitter ... I do have an account but I must be one of the handful of people on the planet that does not really use Twitter.
