New phone appears to login to a different Spotify Premium account buy on same email address

My Spotify premium account has been working fine on all devices until I changed my phone.

When I login in to my account on the phone it appears to login to a totally new (blank) account, even though I have used the correct email address and the original account is still up and running on my other devices.

This happened once before and it was either a trial account being created in error or something to do with the Facebook interference with Spotify.

Please could someone advise how to sort this out? My Spotify account has never intentionally been linked with my Facebook account, even though logging into this forum appears to show there is now a link.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

If your Spotify premium is tied to a Spotify username and password, then make sure you are logging in using those details rather than using Facebook (or your email address) when logging into the mobile application.

Thanks for the reply.

I think this is the cause of the problem. I logged in using my email address and password and it has attached an account to Facebook rather than just Spotify details as I had before.

Question is  - how do I get rid of it?

Just log out of the mobile app (will be in the settings menus somewhere) and then log back in using your Spotify username and password.
