Spotify Family account banned?

Spotify Family account banned?

Hello,
I bought a Spotify premium family account. I added few of my family members there (we all live in one house) but my sister got deleted and I cannot add her again. How to make her unbanned? She wants to have the account connected with Facebook so we don't really want to create a new one.

Hi Alexaver and welcome to the Spotify Community,

I don't believe there should be anything blocking you from re-inviting the member, but according to the Spotify Support website they do state:

  • "All members of a Premium for Family plan must reside at the same physical address.
  • If we’re unable to verify the members of a Premium for Family plan, they are removed from the plan.

-Spotify Support Webpage: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/premium_for_family/premium-for-family/

I'm might be because Spotify could not verify her address, I would suggest either trying again or if there is something blocking you from doing that, create a new account, and change the address to your current one. Hopefully, that should do the trick.

If anything persists or you have any other questions/issues, I am always available to help.

Best,

Jack

Note: I am not a Spotify Employee.

I have the same issue. My son can't join to my Family Plan because he didn't update his address within the 7 days. We live together and I think Spotify needs to give us a solution.

Hey @ing_moi,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.

When the user fails to re-verify the address, the system will remove the account from the plan and the user has to rejoin. In some cases, sending a new invite can do the trick, but when that error message comes up, it could be possible that the user is trying to join a 3rd plan in less than 12 months, or the account could have a restriction for the lack of verification.

To make sure about what's happening with that user, since we don't have access to users' accounts from the Community, we'd recommend contacting out Customer Support, so they can check the affected account and help you further.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
