Spotify asks me to change my password every week.

Spotify asks me to change my password every week.

Hello,

I receive an email "Please update your Spotify password." from no-reply-spotify. I don't change my password each time, I can't even log into my account. Can you fix it? This mess has been going on for over half a year. I'm tired of coming up with new passwords every 8 days. You have some kind of bug in the system. Please fix it!

It's possible that there might be malicious activity going on in your account. This is possible after signing in to third party websites with your Spotify account.

I'd suggest that you visit www.spotify.com and view websites that have access to your account. Remove all websites which aren't very important.

Another thing,it may also be phone issues. Low memory tends to cause malfunctioning of apps.

Check your memory, log out and then back in, remove access to your account by third party websites and restart your phone.

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I'd also prefer to know what the reason for it was, for example, "We detected a suspicious login from IP _ on device/browser _ from location _ at time _" or "with app _", rather than just "detected suspicious activity." That email itself looks suspicious because it doesn't have any information only Spotify would know and sounds like it's luring me into doing something very simple for something important ("Just click the big green button" and you'll get everything back).

Hi folks!

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply, we just stumbled upon this thread.

First up, we suggest that you make sure to follow all the steps in this article to secure your account and make sure no one else has access to it.

If after following those steps, you keep receiving emails from Spotify asking to change your passwords, we'd recommend following the instructions under the Lost anything? section of the article mentioned above so our Support team can take a look at your accounts and help you with this.

If you need a hand with anything else, the Community us here for you.

I've started getting these emails monthly now (3rd in a row).
My password is unnecessarily strong and I only ever log in from the same two devices as I have been doing for years:
Spotify on Android and Spotify's Mobile Web Player, which is the only permission set on my account.
I can appreciate that we're not given any info whatsoever on what this suspicious activity entails due to security concerns on your end, but this leaves nothing to troubleshooting by on our end.

As mz496 pointed out in their post; give us at least the IP of recent successful logins.
