My Question or Issue

Today I have signed up for spotify with the Premium Duo plan. After signing up and verification via iDeal I got an e-mail to add my address. After I did this, I got an error page (unfortunately I did not make a screenshot of this). After trying again, I just got to the account page, with a part that is constantly loading. Nothing happens. I tried logging in and out, also with incognito. Then I noticed that my subscription does not seem to be active, as there is no menu option to see my subscription. I do see the billing receipt of Premium Duo (which is 0,00 as the trial should start) What I also noticed is that my account name is showing differently than the one I signed up with. This is shown correctly on the desktop app, and mobile app. This same username is also shown in the receipt confirmation mail. I never had another spotify with the registered mail before, and did not have any social media login connection.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

 

If your account was created recently, the username is assigned by the system and it can't be changed. However, a display name can be added so it's shown instead of the username. 

 

In this case, if you've chosen the display name "nz***", other people will see your account with this name instead of the username. You can obtain more info about this here. 

 

Additionally, we don't recommend sharing usernames in the Community so we suggest to edit your post and mask the username/display names like we did. 

 

On another note, we suggest that you reach out to our Support team so they can take a look at your account and give you a hand with your subscription. You can do so through any of these channels.
