What problem has mantain these devices working . Sh4ckers
Same here. Please fix this Spotify.
A few days ago it started showing Error 409 when opening Spotify on my iPod version 6.1.6
What a disappointment since it was one of the reasons I chose Spotify and not other platforms.
Please do something to help us so we don't change platforms.
Hey there! Happy to help.
You will need to use an iPhone running at least iOS 14 for the app to run optimally. The latest version of the iPhone 4 is iOS 7. Unfortunately, Spotify won't be able to guarantee support for your device which may be why you're getting that error message. There is more information about this here.
Hope this clears things up!
...incredible...our daughter listened to hear favourite playbooks on my old i-pod...crying now that it does not work anymore...very well done...another great act towards premium users...
It sounds like you are trying to log in to your Spotify Duo account on your daughter's iPhone 4 but are encountering a login failure with error code 409.
The error code 409 typically indicates a conflict with the current state of the target resource. In this case, it could be caused by a few different things:
Your account may have reached the maximum number of devices that can be active at the same time. Spotify Duo package allows you to use the account on two devices at the same time. If you are already using the account on two devices and trying to log in on the third one, you will receive the 409 error.
There might be an issue with the device you are trying to use. The iPhone 4 may not be compatible with the current version of the Spotify app, and this could be causing the login failure.
Your account may be blocked, this can happen when Spotify detects any suspicious activity on an account, if it's the case you should contact Spotify support and they will help you to unblock your account.
To resolve the issue, you could try the following steps:
Check if you're logged in on any other devices and log out of them if necessary.
Try updating the Spotify app on the iPhone 4, as well as making sure that the device has the latest version of iOS installed.
Try clearing the cache and data of the Spotify app on the iPhone 4.
Contact Spotify Support, they will be able to troubleshoot and help you resolve the issue.
Please note that the iPhone 4 was discontinued on September 2013, so it might not be supported by Spotify anymore, which could be the cause of the problem.

What a silly answer! Maybe you should go for every another forum in the Internet and reply for every problem: please buy a new device/car/equipment?
The question was why our old iPhones was good yesterday and are not today!!
Sorry, double post
Sorry, double post
Same issue, very disappointed
Same here - iphone 4 that's been used for years as a spotify device now giving error 409.
Surely it's not hard to have an older, simpler version still available on the app store or have the new one work.
So my old ipod still does its job but spotify decided that it should stop doing its job now...wow...high environmental and sustainability level...well done...
same situation here...
Same problem occured, I have two ipod 4th with JBL dock stations in the house for music playing, have family premium subscription etc so now I have to cancel it due to the stupid error 409? It worked for many years without any problems, so goodbye Spotify ๐
Same issue here on ipod touch 4th gen ๐ please fix this, there are many of us who would still like to at least login on older devices
Same for my iPhone 4! Plesse fix this or i quit
this is so frustrating, this is the DEFINITION
of planned obsolescence, it was working a
week ago, this needs to be fixed ASAP!!!!
Thanks, but this isn't a solution.
Nothing has changed about the iOS of an iPhone 4.
Thats is the constant in this situation.
Spotify has made changes to its app which means it no longer works on the unchanged iPhone 4.
Upgrading the handset it not a solution.
The problem is that Spotify no longer works on an iPhone 4.
The solution needs to be one that resolves this so Spotify does work on an iPhone 4.
