Ive been a Spotify Premium user for a couple of years now. A few weeks ago I changed the credit card tied to my account for auto-billing.
Today I got an automated email saying the monthly automated billing process failed. I logged into my account to re-enter my credit card details and I get the following message when I enter my card details:
"Oops, seems your card or payment provider is having a bad day. Don't worry, no money has been charged. Try again or use another payment method."
I tried this process three times and received the same error.
My card works perfectly, I used it several times today without problem. To be sure I called my credit card company and they also confirmed my account is working all ok without issue. They commented that my card had been used successfully several times today, they also commented there had been no attempt by Spotify to charge my card.
Ive been a Premium Member for year - whats happening Spotify?!

Ive worked around this by using my credit card via paypal (the same card that spotify is rejecting!)
... still an issue Spotify needs to get to the bottom of!
I'm getting the same iussue with a NatWest card which was previously accepted by Spotify, I don't use paypal and don't have an alternative account to pay with. My card works fine with all other stores/websites I've used! Very frustrating as I'd rather not start using another provider.
I´m having the same issues with a mexican credit card previusly used here to pay spotify premium. But I received an SMS form my bank (it is a service in mexican banks) saying that the carge was accepted (and autorization number, etc). but my account continues like "Spotify FREE".
Hello people, thanks for reaching out to the community!
It sounds like there might be an issue. I suggest you read this older thread on the same issue. If it doesn't help at all, I'll escalate the issue to the right team.
