[Android auto and Apple CarPlay][Connect] Paid service for Android auto and Apple CarPlay

[Android auto and Apple CarPlay][Connect] Paid service for Android auto and Apple CarPlay

Spotify stopped working correctly with Android auto and Apple CarPlay on purpose because you are making the car Thing. But if you have an expensive car you don't want another thing on you dashboard. Why not add a subscription option to reactivate the Android auto and Apple CarPlay functionality?

Hey @Mongrel84,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

We can confirm that both Android Auto and CarPlay should work normally.

In this case, could you give us more info about the issue you are experiencing? Also, we'd like to know when the issue started happening.

On another note, we suggest that you make sure to try the steps under Not working? in this article.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi Eni,

Spotify has confirmed that it removed 'Car View' so using the in car app can only be done via voice commands with 'Siri' or 'Android assistant'.

My idea was to reactivate the 'Car View' mode with an extra subscription so people who don't want to add an extra device on their dashboard can use Spotify  properly in their car.

Hi @Mongrel84,

Thanks for your clarification.

Spotify is exploring a variety of new ways to deliver the best in-car listening experience for our users.  We're also retiring certain features like our in-car Now Playing View for Android to make way for innovations coming down the track.

We're always here if there's anything else we can help with.

Cheers!
