Audio problem after 4.4.2 upgrade

Audio problem after 4.4.2 upgrade

I just recently updated to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, and after updating to that, I updated the Spotify app. For some reason, after the updates, the audio in the Spotify app has been off. Whenever I click to play the song, the song plays at normal volume for a split second, and then the volume level drops immensely, so that I have to turn my volume all the way up to get the same volume level as before. This has only happened after the update. Is there something wrong, or is it just my phone?

I'm running version 0.7.6.357 of Spotify, by the way.

Thanks

Do you have any Equalizers or audio effects active?

Wow, I feel stupid. The update must have turned on equalizers, now it works perfeclty fine. Thank you so much!

Hi, I am still having this problem and have not been able to figure it out, I'm about to cancel Spotify if I can't listen to my music normal on my Galaxy Note 3.

Please help!!!

Hey, I'm having the same issue. I downloaded 4.4.2 now the volume is constantly low. Oddly it only happened when I opened Google Navigation (I think). It's almost as if the map voice is stuck in an "on" position. Turning off the EQ fixes it, but that's not really satisfactory as it makes the audio very flat. Restarting my phone resolves the problem for around 30 seconds, then it comes back. I'm using a Galaxy S4 by the way.

What version of Spotify are you using? There was an audio ducking issue but it should be fixed in v1.0.1.x

I'm using 1.0.1.984, seeing as it started happening after the 4.4.2 update my best guess is that Google has changed something with their audio codecs, but I'm not sure. I'm not nearly patient enough to look through the entire changelog haha.

Unfortunately if turning off the EQ fixes it then it is most likely not a Spotify issue. Do you have any other EQs or audio apps? Might be worth removing them temporarily incase another app is causing the issue.
