Green Spinning Circle Hangs Forever

the android version of the app regularly hangs at the green circle spinning whenever I try to put in basic search queries, and even when I go select an artist from my library, even a popular one, like Kendrick. It just hangs! How can this be? The music is saved on my phone and yet it takes ages to so anything in app. This has been going on for years and consistently I'm very disappointed.
