My Question or Issue

Whenever I try to click on a podcast, it says "an error occurred". Whenever I try to do anything in the podcast tab, it says "something went wrong"

It was working on my phone until maybe 2 days ago. The music on my phone still works and both music and podcasts work when I use the same account on my computer. It also works when I want to click on an episode of a podcast, but I can't view all episodes.

I've already tried restarting my phone a couple times and I've clean reinstalled spotify. I'm also certain my wifi has a strong connection because all my other apps are working. Is there anything else should I try?

Thank you!

Hi, I had the same issues today. I finally tried logging out of Spotify and then logging back in. It seems to have fixed it. Hope this helps!

I am having this exact problem just in the last few days and haven't found yet found a solution. It worked after reinstalling the app but after a few hours I got the same error message. It did not work for me to log out and log back in. Any other ideas?

Hey @Alyssie and @colinedwin,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Would you mind checking if there's any available software updates for the Android devices that you've experienced the issue with? It's good to check and double-check since the latest version of Spotify should be running smoothly if your device's operating system is also up-to-date.

If you perform any updates, it'd also be good to make sure you’re allowing the app to run in the background and disabled any task-killer, cache-cleaning or battery-saver apps as well as to restart your device before logging in again.

Let us know how this goes. We're looking forward to your update and we're here to help with anything else too!

I got the exact same problem.

Reinstalling Spotify didn't work multiple times. I even looked into a "clean" Deinstallation that I found here.

Logout and new login works until I close and start the app new.

It also works to start the podcast on the PC and selecting my phone as device.

It also seems like I can access some podcasts via search but not my podcasts.

My phone is a "Huawei ALE-L21" with Android 6.0. I checked for updates and there seem to be none.

I checked that I have the latest updates, checked for task killer apps etc. Reinstalled again and restarted before opening. Podcast pages would load and the tabs in my Podcast library worked. Once I closed the app and opened it again podcast pages show that same error and tabs in the library won't load again. Podcasts will play if I find them through Daily Podcasts playlist or if they populate somewhere else in that home menu but I can't load the actual pages for the Podcasts. I have a Galaxy S5 so it's pretty old but I really haven't had any issues with other apps I've been using.

A super quick work around would be to voice search for a specific podcast show... They will play the latest episode oh, and you can swipe left or right to browse episode per episode. I too am on the Galaxy 7 Sky Pro running the latest software... Just figure this out today. Hope that works for you as well oh, and I most certainly hope that Spotify is troubleshooting and squashing this bug.

Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately, when I close the app, the problem arises once again. It's still nice to know I can use this if I need to, though!

I've already checked and I don't have any updates that I haven't performed. I also doubt there's anything wrong with my device because I've seen countless other android user with the same issue. Seems like it's a bug or something.

Thank you for your response!

Thank you for your response! I'll definitely try using my computer to start podcasts up. Kind of sucks I can't listen on the go, though, since that's mostly when I'd want to listen to podcasts!

Thank you for replying! This definitely seems like a convenient way to start the podcast up!

I also hope they find a way to fix this bug soon.  It's sucks that so many people are experiencing the same issues as us.

I'm also unable to listen or open any poadcast channel on my phone: Android 6.0
