Intermittantly getting "This song is not available"

Intermittantly getting "This song is not available"

Firstly, thanks for redesigning the Android layout. It's much better than before.

Secondly, I keep getting the above error when I tap on tracks. It started about a week ago. If I close the app, and reopen it, I can usually then play the tracks. Sometimes I'll have to close it twice though. I'm on 7.1 on a Pixel XL.

other users have found the following steps helpful:

 

  • uninstall the app, restart your device(s) and then re-install.
  • next, you can sign out of all devices here.
  • clear the cache for the app.
  • try listening on a different device to see if the same problem occurs.

to re-install on android cleanly

Go to System Settings

- Go to "Apps" 

- Find Spotify there

- On Spotify's page, first, tap "Force Close"

- Then tap "Clear cache" if it's not greyed out.

- Then tap "Unninstall" and remove the app.

- If you can, remove the battery now. Power back on.

- Using a file manager on your phone or with your USB cable and your computer, go to Internal Storage > Android > Data and delete a folder called com.spotify.mobile.android.ui

- Reinstall Spotify from Google Play
