Music pauses around 5 seconds into a new song randomly

My Question or Issue

I've seen a few similar threads but no answers. 

I can listen to several songs with no problem but randomly roughly 5-10 seconds into a song it will pause and the only way to play is to either skip back to the start of skip forward to the next song. Pressing play does nothing. 

I've tried going into the battery settings and changing the battery saving settings but that made no difference. 

Any suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed reply.

Good troubleshooting steps so far, but if you're still experiencing this, can you let us know if you've already tried to log out > restart your device > log back in?

It's also a good idea to try a clean reinstall to clear any old files that might be causing issues.

If that doesn't do it for you, we'll need to know if this happens on all your devices and their models and OS version.

Hi Elena,
I do apologise! I completely forgot about this post.
I recently got a new phone and the issue no longer exists, it must be an issue either with the old phone or an update threw the app into haywire, not to sure.

Incase anyone else has this issue I did the log out - restart phone - log in, but that unfortunately did not fix the issue. I didn't perform a uninstall/reinstall and I no longer have the phone so unfortunately can't confirm if it would have worked.
