Playback failed message

Solved!

Playback failed message

Just recently, I am repeatedly getting 'Playback failed' message when using Spotify on my Android Hudl.  I then have to 'force stop' the app and then it works again for a few tracks then crashes again.   It seems to happen more frequently after the advertisements(I am not  subscriber)

Anyone else had this problem ?  Or can suggest a solution ?  It has only started happening in the last few weeks.  I have been a user for over a year now and not had this problem before.

Hi. I don't recognise this as a spotify error message but could you try reinstalling spotify following the steps here.

I had already uninstalled and re-installed Spotify this morning, and it seems to have fixed this problem. Thanks for your reply.

I'm having the same problem and have uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it's still failing the playback it's really annoying why is it doing this?

Reinstalled many times but still Playback Failed. Anyone got a cure? Plz?

Please post details of the device you get this error on, android version and spotify version. A screen capture showing the error message would be really helpful too.

Soz it's on iPad and latest update.Soz it's on iPad and latest update.

Thanks. I guess this relates to the ads on spotify free? Get in touch with them here, I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

Same here bru

Same here and I am a paid subscriber. The Spotify apps (ios, android, web, and PC) are an absolute  disaster. This is unacceptable for a paid service.

Hey there @Rallystar555,

Thank you for your reply here in the Community. We just came across this thread.

Can you let us know if this occurs on one specific device or multiple devices?

First we'd like to recommend you that you try a different internet connection to see if the issue persists?

We'll keep an  eye out for your reply.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Thank you for the reply. I tried to tag you but my text was replaced with "***bleep***. The issue was present on my Samsung Note 20 device but eventually rectified itself after a few hours. With that said, I have experienced multiple issues, all different, on multiple devices. I never thought that it could be the internet connection but I will consider that when I experience problems. However, some times I am on my mobile instead instead of my home connection and still experience strange issues. The most annoying issue to date is while listening to a podcast via the web app on my PC. Every 10-ish minutes the podcast will stop and return to home OR start playing a different podcast episode. I have become so accustomed to this that click play on the correct podcast again without thinking about it. I can share many other issues if you are interested. It just seems unusual to me that out of the many streaming services I pay for (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube Music...etc), and the many free services, that Spotify is the only one I experience issues with AND consistently different issues across different devices. What do you recommend as the most reliable way to consume content from Spotify?

Hey @Rallystar555,

Thank you for keeping in touch and for the info you shared.

We're glad to know that everything is looking fine in your Samsung device. For the Web Player, As it is a web page, there could be different factors that may affect the listening experience in general.  We'd recommend using the mobile Spotify app as this one is optimized for your device.

However, if you want to keep using the Web Player, we'd recommend deleting the caché of your browser and try it in an incognito Window. If the issue persists, could you try with a different browser to see if it makes any difference?

We'll be on the lookout.
