My Question or Issue

For the past few days one of my playlists has taken either multiple hours to sync to my Android or it doesn't sync at all. If I add the same songs to another existing playlist they show up immediately but they will not add to the first playlist unless I manually select every song and add them there, despite them being added immediately on my Macbook. Also, my newest local files won't sync to my phone at all. I uninstalled the app, re-downloaded all my 3000+ local files, which show up fine, but any I've added in the past day or two will be greyed out on my Android. I can create all new playlists on my Mac and they will show up on my phone but the one playlist won't sync automatically and my newest local files won't show up.

Hey there @92filmgeek,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!

As a first step, try logging out, restarting your devices and your router by unplugging it for a couple of minutes, and logging back in. If this doesn't make any difference, we understand that you already tried reinstalling the app, but can you try following these steps for a clean reinstall? That one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to remove any cached files that might be causing trouble.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

I have the exact same issue. Have done 3 clean reinstalls on my laptop and android with no luck. The playlist shows on my phone but it is empty, and the playlist on my laptop shows the local files (the download option is on the playlist so they should have auto-downloaded onto my phone's playlist).

So I then added a random song on spotify to that playlist and it does not even show on the playlist on the laptop, so it's as if the playlists are not syncing at all. I also tried it the other way, added a random song on spotify from my laptop to the playlist and even then that does not show on the playlist on my phone.

I have also moved the local files around to different folders to try and see if that works, it did not.

Both devices have been restarted several times.

I'm on the same private WiFi network and have the latest app versions installed on each device and my firewall allows sharing. I've been at this for 6 hours with no luck.

Same issue started 4 days ago. On other playlist Spotify sync everything fine. But on my main playlist didn't sync new songs. Trying to install, clean cache, changing network... notching works so far...

I'm having this same problem. This used to work perfectly with no problems, all of a sudden over the last few days something changed and now local files I put in a playlist from my PC don't sync to my mobile device. They don't appear in the playlist at all, not even as unplayable songs. On mobile, the playlist appears completely empty. Adding non-local songs works.

I reinstalled Spotify on my PC and even completely reinstalled Android 11 from scratch on my phone, still won't sync.

Hi there folks,

Thank you for your replies in this thread.

Just to double-check you haven't missed out a step that might fix the issue, could you make sure that you have:

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Hi Jeremy,

As advised in my message, I have done 3 clean reinstalls and have the latest apps downloaded from Google Play Store and the Microsoft Store on each device.
I have cleared cache, unchecked local files, rechecked local files, moved them to different folders, checked my firewall and Spotify has full permissions, used the same WiFi network, tried mobile hotspotting and none of these have fixed the issue. And of course with all of these, both devices have been restarted too.

Please advise thanks

Today sync works fine for me

Mines still isn't working 😞
