I can sign into spotify.com just fine using my facebook credentials. I do not have a previous spotify account.
When I first launched the android app, it opened facebook and I logged in, then I got a screen that says:
Sign In
Hi. Connect to Facebook by signing in with your Spotify Username and Password.
I have no idea what this means. Using my facebook email and password doesn't work. If I look at my profile on spotify.com, it shows a 10-digit number for a username. Using that in conjunction with my facebook password also does not work. If I click on the "Forgot Username and Password?" link in the Android app, it opens a webpage that prompts me to install the same Spotify app for Android. If I use the forgot password mechanism on spotify.com (using either my email or the 10-digit username), it tells me that I'm using facebook and need to make any password changes there.
This seems a bit silly. As near as I can tell, there's no longer any way to create a new, non-facebook Spotify account. But I can't seem to sign into the app without one.
Hmm, I've just tried it and after heading to the Facebook app to log in, it went back to the Spotify application and logged in. As far as I can tell, you don't have another account and should work in a similar fashion for you too.
You might want to try a clean installation of your Spotify application first of all. This should hopefully get things working for you.
Im having the same problem. Even after reinstalling the app it still prompts me for a second login.

I am having the same issue. I was asked for a second login request. After trying different variations of my username and password, I got in but the problem is it seems spotify has lost all of my information! (apparently I had an older spotify account)
Any help would be appreciated 🙂
You probably just created a second spotify account. If you use the online contact form, someone at Spotify can help get this sorted. If you get an automated reply directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly (even though it says not to) to speed things along.
I am having the same problem. I've tried reinstalling Spotify and reinstalling the FB app and logging in to it first. I'm using Android 2.3.
If you are being asked to login again after logging in using Facebook be aware there does appear to be a service issue affecting those accounts. I have reported it as an issue to the Spotify team.
In the mean time I have been told that creating a device password and retrieving your Spotify username, just like described here and then using those details to sign in should work.
