My Question or Issue

I use Spotify on my Gear S3 when running to listen tomusic as well as listen to my running coaching program.  I use a number of different coaching programs, (eg: PEAR for Spotify & Samsung Health), and there is a common problem with Spotify.  When the coaching provides an instruction, Spotify can random;y stop playing through the connecetd Bluetooth headset. (I am using the Samsung Gear iConX earphones). However, if I play music stored on the watch I do not have this problem.  Is this a known issue?

Hey @gb67.

Thanks for reaching out to us 🙂 Let's see what we can do to help you out.

It sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let us know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

We'll see what we can suggest next!

Thanks,

P

Thank you for your email and suggestions.  As per my original query, this relates to Spotify on my Gear S3 smartwatch.  The link you provided has no information for the Gear S3 at all.  However, I have reinstalled the app with no luck.

The information on my system is as follows:

  • Spotify on Gear S3: Version 1.2.1 dated 5 Dec 2017
  • Operating system on Gear S3:
    • Tizen Version 3.0.0.2
    • Software Version: R760XXU2CRH1

To reiterate the problem: Spotify wil stop playing music from the Gear S3 watch through my Samsung IconX bluetooth earphones when used in conjunction with a coaching program (eg PEAR for Samsung or Samsung Health) during a run.

Hey there @gb67,

Thanks for getting back in touch with this.

Just to confirm, have you checked here to make sure the device you're using with your Gear S3 is meeting the necessary system requirements?

Let us know if that helps!
