Songs constantly get un synced in offline mode

Songs constantly get un synced in offline mode

Hi Guys,

I wondered if anyone can help me out.

I have got the spotify app on my Samsung Galaxy S3 which I use pretty much on a daily basis. I put all of my songs in a single playlist (1600 ish tracks) and have downloaded that playlist to my phone for use in offline mode. I set my phone to offiline mode which is fine but, after a while my playlist slowly gets un-synced. This week alone spotify decided to unsync roughly 400 songs. I have put up with this problem for a while now but this is pretty much the final straw.

I am sure I am not the only one suffering from this problem. Can you please tell me how I can rectify this problem / when it will be rectified. It's hard for me to justify spending £10 a month on a music service which won't let me listen to music.

If any other information is required please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

Nick

im having the same issue, with a HTC Evo Shift.

I connect with my wifi- sync all the new songs i want to add, then go on a roadtrip and find that almost ALL of the new songs ive added arent available unles they re-dowload. Grrrr.

same problem here.  they have no answers for us.

8% songs un-synced today.

Cheers spotify!

I have the same problem. New playlists that I have downloaded disappear after a while. Getting tired of this! We pay for this service and I would like to have access to what I pay for!

Yes it would be nice if we could get some kind of suggestions from the Spotify gurus.

My data limit is quite low and its extremely frustrating to find my playlists unsynched during the course of the day.

Cmon Spotify!

I have exactly the same problem...

So within 2 days my playlist now sits at 84% downloaded.

I'm pretty confident in saying that the songs don't actually get 'un-installed' they just become un-accessible and require a further download. This means that multiple versions of the song will remain on my S3 which are un-accessible. This happened on the iPhone as well in older versions of Spotify (I can't prove it is happening now but I can make an assumption it is...).

Cheers again Spotify for un-syncing songs and filling up un-necessary HD space!

Same issue, Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB, tried a few workarounds, same issue. Shame because the app is great apart from that. If its not sorted soon I will have to look at canceling my subscription and looking elsewhere.

Even worse: today my newest playlists totaly disappeared from my app, yesterday I could at least see them in the not downloaded list!

I have already canceled.  They can email me when they get all their problems fixed.  Perhaps I will give sony a try next month...

Same here. I'm finding older playlists that I've had for ages are fine, but I've now tried to add 3 new albums in the last few days. Every night I d/l them over wifi and they say they're on the phone all ready to go. Only the following morning when I'm sat on the train ready to listen to them, THEY'RE BLOODY WELL NOT D/L AGAIN!!! Very very frustrating and totally defeating the purpose of paying for the subscription! This and the stupid amounts of data being used 'in the background' by the app are making me wonder if it's worth keeping any longer. :o(

I have it too, it seems to be happening since the last update.

I've got 2k songs on my phone was busy all last night to get them back on through a shabby wi-fi connection. It was about half done today and now they're all gone again. I'm so annoyed that i have to pay €10 for this **bleep**..

Is there any word on this by spotify?

I mailed support about this issue:

Thank you for contacting spotify.

I have done some maintenance to your account. Hopefully you should have some of your playlists back. In regards to un-downloading can you do a full reinstallation please:

iPhone:

To reinstall your app please do the following:
- Delete the Spotify application from your iPhone/iPod touch. To do this, press and hold the application until it hovers and then press the X symbol.
- Restart your iPhone/iPod Touch.
- Install Spotify again from the App Store.

Android:

1. First, go to Spotify in your device's app management. Depending on your device, this can be found in:
Settings > Apps > Spotify, or
Settings > Applications > Manage Aplications > Spotify
2. Press "Clear data" and then "Uninstall"
3. Install Spotify once again through the Android Market

If you need any other questions answered, please dont hesitate and contact us.

I'm at work now and don't have Wi-Fi, so i cant really do much now, but for now all my playlists just got un-downloaded again.. So I have my doubts this will do anything at all..

Will update later

Hi,

Did you try:

1) Uninstalling

2) Deleting Spotify folder with file manager app like Astro

3) Restart phone

4 Reinstall

It worked for me. Synced playlists remain.

Follow me

Question: Since you did the re-install/re-sync etc, have you tried adding NEW playlists and syncing them for offline/mobile use?

I only ask this as this is the main problem I've found. Older playlists that I've had for ages are fine and remain synced. The problem occurs when I try to add new playlists, sync them in the evening and then by the morning they're un-synced again!

I had/have the same problem. It happens a month or so ago and I was told to reinstall the app. Today it happened again. The uninstall reinstall seems to only be a temporary fix. It seems they can't be bothered to give us a paid service that works rather than keep fobbing us off. Deezer is looking better and better

Dyou know, it upsets me to say it but if they can't sort the issue out with this and the background data issue I may have to move to another service. I know it won't be the end of the world to Spotify to lose one paying member but I just find it sad that they've released updates recently that added functions (equaliser etc) yet didn't address these 2 basic issues?

Up until now, I'd not really bothered looking at the competition as I was more than happy with the service from this but I've now Googled Deezer to check out what it can do and another one called Rdio.

Would much rather stay with Spotify but if there's no joy on this then what's the point?

This seems to be their solution for everything... I think this is pretty much a cop out on Spotifys part. You would think a worldwide company like Spotify who have thousands if not millions of users would have a bigger development / testing team. It seems to me there are only a handful (if that) of developers and no testers.

As others have stated, I will start to look elsewhere for a replacement service which is more reliable.

Oh and currently my playlist is sat at 83% synced. The age of the tracks seems to make no difference to which ones get un-synced either.

Same here, on my SIII. Pretty irritating.....

Clearing the data on the Spotify app (via Applications manager) apparently sorted it.....
