Spotify keeps deleting downloaded songs

Solved!

Spotify keeps deleting downloaded songs

Using 7.2.0.1250 armv7 on a Nexus 6. Every few days, every song in my library downloaded for offline play (approx 2000) is deleted, forcing me to spend an hour or so going back and downloading each album/artist individually. I use Spotify often while driving/walking and don't have much of a data plan to stream. If this keeps up, I won't be using Spotify any more, it's too much of a hassle. Can anyone help?

New behaviour: Spotify app now just deselects my downloaded albums. In the past they were marked as offline available when most of the tracks went missing. now it looks like I never marked these albums as offline. When activating the offline option all tracks are immediately available without the app downloading anything.

Just noticed there are several threads on the first page dealing with the same issue. Come on Spotify, fix this please!
In other threads people were mentioning weak mobile signal when the error occurs. Same here. Always happens when I'm on the road having almost no signal.

Same here and I have lots of data. Never run out

No help and no fix? Spotify this is shameful, i've been a member for 3 years, but after having painstakingly saved my music for an overseas trip, only to be met with a deleted library, you can go ****yourself, Apple Music, take my money

Should I stop sportify or can this be fixed?

I could not understand why this topic is marked as "solved"? I know this problem very well since springtime when i started downloading (8.4.1.846 armV7). Every one or two week or so i had to download my offline content again. No reliability at all. 😞

I need my songs to not delete

Happened to me twice in the last month! And the first time I was on a night train with no wifi or signal at all... it was a long silent journey. I'm trying to find a solution in here, but it seems I am not the only one disappointed. Is there a way to contact Spotify to obtain technical support or something??

Same problem here. I'm using a MotoG3 with SD-card. First I thought the problem could be the external storage, then I tried to format it completely. Didn't work, as well as any other possible solution that I found in this forum. Anyway, I'm very pissed about it, because I'm having to redownload every album individually every time this problem appear. So, if this problem continue I'm probably going to migrate to Deezer or any equivalent platform. PLEASE FIX IT SPOTIFY!!

Joe, a Community Legend, gave me the following hint

I'm "outdoor" now, only with expensive mobile data and won't spend time or money for tests.

If you use the contact form, please let us know your expieriences.

thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. It keeps switiching the storage to device storage instead of sd card---without any type of warning! And the songs that i purchased on iTunes and transfered as local files aren't available until I connect to Spotify on my computer.

I need a solution--first time it's happened to me on my motorola g 2nd gen, but it's so inconvenient and frustrating that I'm thinking of switching already---this isn't worth $10/month.

Same problem here. I think the comment about the cache sounds right -Spotify seems very intolerant of not being able to see the storage location so if your DAD card goes offline briefly it loses connection to the songs and can't re-establish it

My only suggestion is I keep all my downloading playlists at the top of my library and have a folder called”download above here"which I place just below them. When it deletes my music at least I know easily which playlists to download again

I had an issue where spotify popped up a message that I had been using too many devices and was going to remove all my offline data. I was only using one other device, my laptop, so this should not have happened, but it did and just as I was boarding a longhaul flight where the in-flight entertainment system was busted, so not ideal timing! As soon as I got to a decent wifi connection all the songs were restored without issue, however for that period the songs were either removed from the device or were not available for playback.

I have the same exact problem. I have downloaded almost 1500 songs and saved them in the memory card of my Motorola 3G. Every 3-4 days they get deleted and I have to wait hours until they are downloaded again. This is so frustrating.

i 've learned to be careful - but i think -  that issue is fixed with

Version 8.4.11.1283 armV7.

This is one of at least 6 threads  about the same problem of Spotify repeatedly deleting downloaded songs.  If  we all flooded Spotify Technical support at the same time with the same complaint, they might take notice and do something about it.  I already contacted them and they gave their standard solution that they give everyone, which I tried and it was a waste of time and did not solve the problem, and then they closed the ticket as resolved.

Happend again! I'm sure it is related to bad mobile data signal. If it happens it is when I'm on throttled mobile data. So annoying.

It's just a chat bot. Not very helpful.
