My Question or Issue
I am unable to play podcasts or music on Spotify from my lgv30. When I select play, nothing happens, the audio does not play, or move on the time line. This occurring on all podcasts and songs, not anything specific.
I have done the following:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the application multiple times.
Cleared the application cache
Reset my phone after each reinstall
I am able to play Spotify music and podcasts on my windows computer without issue, on the web player, so not sure why it doesn't work on my android device. I'd appreciate any input to resolve this issue.
Hi there @Gotflores,
Thank you for your post here in the Community. We're happy to help.
Can you confirm that you followed the steps that's provided in this article? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app from your phone so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest it since the steps will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
It would also be great if you can log in with a different account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persist?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
Hi again @Gotflores,
Thank you for your reply and for the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far.
Can you log in with your account on a different device to see if the issue persist?
Another useful step to try is to use a different internet connection.
If that doesn't do the trick, can you provide us a screen recording? This will help us have a more directly look from your end.
Keep us posted 🙂
Take care!
Tried the following:
-As noted my account works in my PC, and so it did work when I signed into Spotify with my partner's account on their pixel 3a and PC. Still did not work on my lgV30 when I Signed back in.
-Ran application on home wifi and cell service (T-Mobile), no change. The internet connection is the same used by my pc, and partners devices, so don't believe those to be the issue.
-Phone does not appear to have a screen recorder, however as noted what happens is if I select any other song or podcast that isn't Joe Rogan, the media will act like it's going to play, but the time progress bar does not move, no audio can be heard, and when I select Play, changes to the pause icon, and when selecting pause, goes back to play, but again, no audio or progress. Not sure what a screen share would show to help as it's as described, unless it collected data from the apps logs. If you have a recommendation, let me know.
Hey @Gotflores,
Thanks for your reply.
Not to worry. If you're unable to record your screen, a regular video where we can take a better look at the issue will also help us investigate further and see if we can replicate the issue from our end.
Also, could you let us know the exact Spotify version you're currently running?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Just as I got a screen recording app, the application is now working. I am currently running version 8.6.30.889, which appears to be the latest version update from 05/25, so perhaps whatever version before this didn't work with my phone.
Hi @Gotflores,
