I have an HTC One m8, lollipop version, and this recently started happening. I will be listening to Spotify through bluetooth in my car and if I make a call or a call comes in, the music will pause (like it should) for a bit, but then it'll start playing faintly in the backround of the call. I can hear it, but the person on the other end of the line can't. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
Odd. It's not like that on my M9 or my wife's M8. Please read the guide linked below for details on the most common issues and how to fix them. Usually a clean install is the first step to take and resolves most of the usual issues; the guide details the steps to take to ensure a full 'clean installation' is achieved - This includes checking redundant folders and a REBOOT!

Yes, this happens with both mymoto x (2014) as well as my husband's. I think it might be a lollipop issue, since it did not happen on old moto g with previous version. It plays so loud the call cannot be heard. It's especially a problem while driving, not wanting to look at the phone to turn off spotify. It's ONLY a spotify problem, other streaming stops. We are probably going to cancel our subscription since it's such a problem, and not the only one (the connect feature has been VERY buggy).

Just wondering if there are any fixes for these issues. I have a 2nd gen Moto-X. Have had it for a year with Spotify on it since day 1. Would not be exaggerating to say I have the app running every day. NEVER had issues until a couple weeks ago. Phone rings... Spotify plays music. Answer a call... Spotify plays music in the background. Disconnect BT headset... Spotify plays music at full volume on phone…REALLY sucks when it happens at work!! Have even closed the app… still plays music. I just uninstalled Spotify from my phone. Will re-install to see if that helps. If not, guess I will no longer be able to use Spotify on phone, which sucks because I pay for the premium version!!… PLEASE HELP!!!
I have this problem as well. On a Nexus 6P with Andriod 6.0. Spotify 4.1.0.868.
These are the issues I'm struggling with:
1. Music plays after a hands free call is recieved. It just continues to play while on a call. Super annoying.
2. Music continues to play after disconnecting head phones off of the phones external speaker.
3. Song information stops updating via bluetooth on my cars display.
It seems like new bugs keep being introduced which greatly reduces my enjoyment in subscribing to Spotify. I hope someones looking into these issues.
Hey guys!
There's already a lot of people reporting the same problem (me being one of them), and it'll be better and simpler if we were all on the same page (no pun intent!). The more we are on the same thread, the simpler it is for other like us to find us, instead of being spread all around and/or create a new one... (I found 5 different threads in the first 3 pages, all with the same issue). It would also give A LOT more visibility to a single thread, making it more obvious to the Spotify staff that we have an actual problem here.
So, I highly suggest you post your issues to the following thread, simply copy/paste what you've already posted here:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Android/Spotify-don-d-stop-playng-on-incoming-calls-Android/td...
After you do that, I would delete this one, or simply mark this thread as "solved" so we all gather together at the same place.
Also, don't forget to click the "ME TOO" green button at the on the first post of the thread.
I came up with a solution. I cancelled my spotify subscription today and I now have a google play music family plan for $15/mo which includes up to 6 people. It has more music and so far it seems way less buggy. I listen to music to get away from stress, and spotify was not allowing me to do that with all of it's annoying bugs!
I had the same problem with spotify 2 years ago on a galaxy s3 and switched to windows phone because of this. now i am back on android with a nexus 6p and this bug isn't solved. So i don't think spotify would fix it soon. I also have a google music account now and will cancel my spotify premium as soon as i moved my playlists.
