Hey,

Thank you for sharing this on Spotify community

Is this the first time that you've experienced this app behavior or has this occurred before ?

Do make sure you are the latest version of the application once on your device.

Thanks for your attention.

Not sure, but today I notice and analyze since I ha d the Spotify and desktop open at the same time

I'm also having this problem for the last few days. I just updated the app and it wasn't fixed.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it did not fix the problem.

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delay in responding!

Just to confirm, is this affecting all of the podcasts you're listening to or just specific ones? If the latter, could you send us their URIs so that we can check? Could you try logging out and back in again a few times? This sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device.

Also, it'd be great if you can log in on another device to check if the issue persists there, as well as ask someone to log in their own account on the device you're experiencing this on. This way we can determine if this is account- or device-related.

Keep us posted.

Hello Dessi and thanks for your reply,

It actually happens to all podcasts

Hey @amfsilva,

Thanks for the quick reply and the confirmation!

Can you give the suggestions about logging out and back in and testing this on a different device and with a different account on your own device a shot and let me know if they make a difference? That'd be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to your reply.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Spotify version: 9.0.22.543 / Android version: 15
It happens with every podcast episode, but I'll attach a few screenshots with an example.

Maybe worth noting I just recently updated from Android 14 to 15, but I'm not 100% sure if that was when this bug started occurring.

Hey @whatanoob,

Thanks for reaching out and for all the info and screenshots you've provided!

I wasn't able to reproduce this on my end, so can you let me know if you've tried any troubleshooting steps so far? If not, I'd recommend trying what I suggested in my previous response here, so that we can determine what the root cause is.

Let us know how it goes.

As I said, I deleted and downloaded the app again. I also tried logging in and out multiple times and nothing changed. I don't have another Spotify account to try to log in to. I also can't see if the problem persists on my computer because the desktop version of Spotify doesn't seem to even have this feature.

One easy solution for Spotify to fix, would be changing the, word, unstead of "left" just writen "played"

But I don't it is what they want, neither it would be coerent with desktop app.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the replies!

We really appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far, but in order to investigate this further, we'd need some more information. You don't need to have another Spotify account to test this out on, you can just ask a friend or relative to log in their own account in the mobile app on your phone and check if they experience the same thing.

Can you folks also check @whatanoob's examples here and try adding a podcast episode to a test playlist to see if the issue occurs there as well?

Keep us posted.

I tested it with my partner's account on my phone and the issue persists, so it definitely doesn't seem to be account specific.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the cooperation!

@whatanoob Thanks for testing this out with a different account and for the screenshots as well!

We've gone ahead and reported this to our tech team, so that they can have a closer look and check why this is happening. We'll let you know as soon as we hear back from them.

Take care.

My Question or Issue

When listening to a track (in my case, a podcast episode), the app lists how many minutes I already listened to. However, the Hungarian translation is wrong because it says 'x minutes left' (x perc van hátra) when in reality it lists how many minutes I listened to already, which should be 'x perc meghallgatva'.

So now I have a podcast episode that is 1 hour and 30 minutes long and I listened to 3 minutes and it says '3 perc van hátra' (3 minutes left).

Same problem here.

Pixel 6a

Android 15

Spotify version 9.0.22.543

Edit: I just tested a later version that is not yet on the Play Store, 9.0.24.589, and it seems to be fixed there.

Edit 2: Nope, it's still not completely fixed in the most recent version floating around. It gets the correct time remaining now, but doesn't update on app switching, so you now have to leave the playlist (go somewhere else in Spotify) and then re-enter the playlist for it to show the updated current time remaining.
