My Question or Issue
recently I had to replace my phone due to some component issues, ever since I got my replacement and redownloaded all apps, whenever I open Spotify, it instantly starts playing the song I was last listening to.
I usually use 2-3 music apps so anytime I open Spotify while listening to a song from another app, and Spotify just starts playing and cuts off my song, it's quite irritating, I've tried looking for answers about this issue as this never happened with my previous phone which I had literally less than a few weeks ago and which also had the same version of Spotify.
All other topics about this stuff is about auto play and some other things, I've tried them all but none seem to work, wondering if anyone else has this issue or can provide a solution

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the patience while we looked into this.
We can confirm that Spotify is aware of this issue, and the right teams are working on improving this in the future. However, at the moment we can't provide a specific timeline on when this will happen.
For now, we suggest keeping your app up to date.
Once again, thanks for all the feedback and patience. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.
Great update. Now, rather than just autostart, Spotify announces that it is restarting the last thing played... Brilliant 🙂 I love that inhuman voice announcing that the app is away to do something which I don't want to happen. Thanks Spotify you bunch of ~bleep~!
Seems like they may have fixed it with the latest update?
Spotify version: 8.9.38.494 (May 6, 2024)
Android version: 14
Android security update: May 5, 2024
Nope, I spoke too soon. It did it again today.
Still same issue, latest OS on Pixel 7A and latest spotify available.
This hasn't happened to me in the last few months. Is it finally fixed for everyone?
No, I’m actively struggling with this. Reason I found this post. It happens all the time, when I’m connected to Bluetooth, CarPlay and even when I’m not.
When I get in my car and open Spotify, music automatically starts playing over my bluetooth stereo. And 9 times out of 10, the volume bar will start jumping up and down from max volume to low volume, rapidly. The only way to fix it is to keep pressing the volume up button until it goes away. This issue wasn't present on either of my phones when I first got them, but after a few months of use, it's appeared on both phones. I've tried clearing cache and data but the issue persists.
I thought it could have been some sort of hearing protection precaution, but I don't get any volume warnings. I'm not running any EQ apps.
Device
Blu phone, Moto G Power
Operating System
Android 11 and 12
This issue is now affecting iPhone users in 2024 🫠
