Turning off Offline Mode when you don't have Premium?

Solved!

Turning off Offline Mode when you don't have Premium?

I don't have spotify premium but I did, and I had left my phone in Offline mode before my subscription ran out. Now that I'm back to the free version of Spotify, there is no toggle for Offline/Online so I'm stuck in offline mode, and cant use the service.

Everyone keeps saying to go into the options and click online mode but it is not there.

If you are unable to find the toggle to switch to online mode on your Spotify app, you may want to try the following steps:

  1. Make sure that you have an active internet connection: Spotify requires an internet connection to function properly. If you are not connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data, you will not be able to use the service.

  2. Log out and log back in: Try logging out of your Spotify account and then logging back in. This may reset any settings that are preventing you from switching to online mode.

  3. Clear the cache and data of the Spotify app: Go to your phone's settings and then to "Apps & notifications". Find Spotify and tap on it. Then, tap on "Storage & cache" and select "Clear storage" and "Clear cache". This will remove any temporary files that may be causing the issue.

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app: If the above steps do not work, try uninstalling the Spotify app and then reinstalling it from the app store. This may reset any settings that are preventing you from switching to online mode.

I'll be barking up the wrong tree without updates!

I never had Spotify premium and my internet went out for a few hours, but then when the internet came back on Spotify has been bothering me with offline mode. I did all the steps and been searching through the settings but nothing has worked. Any other steps to turn off offline mode?

Hi there @Daniel_eilx2442,

Thanks for the post.

You should be able to switch off offline mode by going in to the in-app Settings > and turning off Offline Mode

If the setting is not kept off when you restart the app, it's best that you do a clean reinstall of the app on your device, following this guide. This is most likely caused by some corrupted app files, which should be removed by clearing the cache and data and reinstalling the latest version.

Hope this helps.
