Using Android to control PC spotify shows incorrect track for queue

Device: HTC One M8 - Android 5.0.1

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start playing spotify on a desktop PC.

2. Start spotify on your Android phone

3. Set the phone to control the PC so it says "Playing From <PC Name>"

4. Select a track from the playlist and Add to Queue

5. When the queue track starts playing Spotify mobile will show the title/artist/art for the next track in the _playlist_, not the next track in the play queue.

Example:

Play Queue (* Playing):

* Foo - Bar

Baz - Blah

Quz Thud

Add to Queue: Mountain Goats - No Children

Play Queue:

* Foo - Bar

Mountain Goats - No Children

Baz - Blah

Quz - Thud

Skip to next track.

PC Play Queue:

*Mountain Goats - No Children

Baz - Blah

Quz - Thud

Android will show Baz - Blah as the currently playing track even though No Children is actually playing

Ha no that doesn't help, it's showing the wrong song.

Did you update desktop and Android application to latest version?
I had similar problems in the past.
Also try a clean reinstall on Android phone.
