Why was gapless playback and cross-fading taken off the TV app?

In older versions of the TV app the songs automatically synced with your account settings and cross-fades each track seamlessly. Now, the option isn't even available. It is distracting breaks me from my flow state during work / workouts etc.

There cannot be any claim that it never was implemented, because in previous versions this feature was always there. Across two TVs I have two different versions of Spotify, which the older one has cross-fading and the new one does not.
