Spotify notification doesn't appear in notification pane while playing

The notification pane doesn't show a notification icon for Spotify when it's playing, either when the app is open or when it's running in the background and playing music. Samsung Galaxy S6, version 7.2.0.1250 of Spotify on Android 6.0.1.
