My Question or Issue
Within the past couple weeks, my "Friends Activity" has gone completely blank. I've attached a picture. I can assure you they are listening to something and should be showing. I'm not on a private session.
Hi @Rathna, the activity feed appears to be working correctly for me at the moment. Just to be clear, do you have the sidebar turned on, and it's displaying no activity, or are you not seeing the activity bar at all?
Hey there @kevin_m_fischer!
Can you let me know when this started and if started after any updates? In the meantime, can you try these steps to see if it makes any difference?
If it doesn't work, can you let me know your device's make and model and the Spotify version it is running?
Looking out to your reply.
/Mateus
This happened two weeks ago for me, but this happened to one of my friends prior to that. I couldn't tell you which update that would be. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Desktop version
Same exact issue for me. Tried uninstall and reinstalling but it's just a blank in friends activity. version 1.2.45.454
yeah me too what is happening
Hey folks,
Thank you for reporting this!
We could reproduce the behaviour on our ends and the issue is on our radar!
Keep your apps up to date in the meantime and let us know the following details:
In case the Friend Feed is essential to you, you can try removing the cached data or going for a complete clean reinstall of the app to see if that would make a difference.
We'll keep you posted as soon as there's anything new to share 🙂
Hi,
Same issue for me - blank friends activity
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.45.454.gc16ec9f6,

HP EliteBook 840 G8
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM)**bleep** 2.61 GHz
24.0 GB RAM
Windows 11 Pro 23H2, OS Build: 22631.4112
This has been helpful, but not a fix. I won't call this a solution until a patch fixes this.

My Question or Issue
My spotify friend activity tab does not display anything, it is simply blank. My friends follow me, I follow them and we have friends activity on so I should be able to see what they are listening to. This is so frustrating as this is not the first time I'm facing this issue. This has happened multiple times - it randomly disappears on its own and randomly gets fixed. But it's been more than a week now and I still can't see anything on my friends activity tab. Please help in resolving this/let me know what are the additional steps to be done to fix this.
As a side note - even when the activity appears I have to close and open the tab again everytime for it to update, it does not update on its own.
This is beginning to get extremely frustrating and really messes with the user experience (people are paying money every month to have a good experience, but this really is going the other way atm!) 😕
Hi @dinomight! Sorry I kinda lost track of this, I have the sidebar turned on, it's just not displaying any activity.
Hiii - thanks for taking the time to respond to me! I've tried logging out and back into the app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and also restarting the app and my laptop. None of these seem to work. I've also tried different internet connections (wifi, hotspot etc.). My listening activity is on too but the issue is still not resolved!
Hey @Rathna,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the clarification.
Jumping in just to mention that a clean reinstall may work for you as it's more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble. If you haven't tried already, give it a go to see if it makes any difference.
If the issue persists, could you check if you have any VPN active? If so, we'd recommend turning it off, restarting the app and trying again.
Lastly, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi there folks,
Thanks for your replies and for trying out our recommendations.
In case you're still experiencing this behavior and you haven't, share the details requested in our previous replies:
We'll be on the lookout.
Hello! The reinstall worked, thank you! I hope to not face this issue again in the future as I have been experiencing this quite a few times in the recent past. I hope spotify finds a more permanent fix for this, thanks for the help OscarDC!
Hi OscarDC, the feature is not working for me again 😞 Is there a more permanent fix for this?
Adding the details of the devise as requested above -

My Question or Issue
After the last update, i'm not able to see my friends activities.
Hey folks,
Thanks for the info.
Have you tried changing the Hardware acceleration settings + restarting the app to see if that helps? You can do this in the app's Settings > Compatibility. It's also worth checking your hosts file and removing any entries with Spotify in the address. You'll find a detailed guide for this here.
Something else you can try is flushing your DNS cache. Make sure Spotify is allowed through the Firewall as well (you can temporarily disable it to see if that does the trick).
Let us know how it goes.
