Hi, I made a collaborative playlist for me and a friend. Then I made the playlist private, I can see if they are listening to our playlist in the friend activity and I am wondering if other people can also see the playlist on their activity or is it just me because we are the only collaborators on it?
Hey @please6,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
Keep in mind that if you set a playlist to private the only people who can see it are the one that you shared its link with.
In this case, only you and the other user should see the playlist's name in Friend Activity and the other users would only see the song's and the album's name there.
Hope this clears things up. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
Hi, so does this mean if you already have a collaborator on the playlist they will continue to see & be able to add to the playlist if it is private??
Welcome to the Spotify Community @Konur1996!
Yep - only the collaborators will be able to access the private playlist. Other users would get an error message instead.
Hope this clears things up!
So if i make a playlist with another collaborator but it is public. Can others see the other person’s account on the playlist as well?
Hey there @kwilliams22
Thanks for your reply here and welcome.
If the playlist is public, others can locate it and see all its collaborators, as well as go to their profiles. They can also see who added which song to the playlist. Those who are not collaborators can join the playlist as listeners, and they won't be able to edit the playlist.
If the playlist is private, if you share the link with others the same will happen. Sharing the link does not automatically add collaborators to the playlist, just listeners.
If you see others have joined ad listeners, you'll see an option to remove them. This option can be found by going to the playlist, click/tap on the members of the playlist at the top> Remove listener.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
I made a collaborative playlist private and now it won't show up for collaborator but it shows up for me. How do I get it to show up for both of us?
Hey @Bombard5475,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
If the playlist doesn't show up for your collaborators after you've made it private, it's worth inviting them again by going to the three-dot menu in the playlist and clicking on Invite collaborators to make sure they're added to the playlist. You can also try sharing it with them. They should be able to see it afterwards, but do let us know if the issue persists and we can look into it.
Keep us posted.
