Autoplay not working for some users

Status: Fixed

We're getting reports that the Autoplay feature isn't working for some users. When a song is played from the search, the app doesn't continue playback of recommended songs after the searched song is over. This is happening on both iOS and Android devices.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Spotify needs fixing, and the moderators don’t do their jobs well to help with these millions of recurring problems that haven’t been fixed after god knows how long.

After a few months of my Spotify working fine and being able to use autoplay, autoplay suddenly just stopped working about 2-3 weeks ago.

Yes, it was working fine before, for months actually.
Yes, I have autoplay turned on.
Yes, I’ve tried it on a new account, on like 5 accounts actually.
Yes, I’ve logged in and out twice, and it works once, but I have to do it every time I go on Spotify.
Yes, it’s worked on this device before.
Yes, it worked on other devices too, and now, doesn’t, so it’s not a device issue.

Hey there,

Welcome, and thank you so much for taking part in our Community.

We`re sorry to hear that you`ve been experiencing this! I see you`ve done some fair share of troubleshooting. What we can suggest as another step would be to perform a clean reinstall of the app. That way if there was an issue that came up on your device during an update it will be automatically removed when replacing the old with the newest version of Spotify. You can find the steps on how to perform a clean reinstall on your device in this blog.

Keep in touch! The Community is here to help out with whatever we can.

My Question or Issue

Spotify's "up next" feature is not showing up for me. I usually don't like to play songs with a playlist, so I click a specific song and then letting Spotify queue a song related to the song I listened to for me. How can I get my "up next" feature back? I tried to delete cache, reinstall the desktop app, and also logging out. I even tried to turn on and off the autoplay feature.

My Question or Issue

For some reason my auto-play just stopped working and I tried everything posted online already (uninstalling, clearing data, on/off button, login and out and even trying it on other devices (laptop) still won't work but when I tried to create a new account and try auto-play it works it's just my account that this feature won't work on.
(even tried copying the same settings as the new account that I've created still won't work)

Same with mine. It just disappeared suddenly and I tried using other devices as well but to no avail. It works when you select the song at the end of a playlist though. Single tracks just end. This has been happening since last week too.

My Question or Issue

The auto play feature of Spotify is no longer working. I have tried logging out, deleting the app, clearing the cache, turning auto play on and off. It does not work on my iPad or my iPhone.

For me it’s been like this all day. I’ve been trying to see if there was an update I missed but everything is current.

My Question or Issue

From last night, suddenly on my account, Spotify is unable to play the next song. Also, the "next" button itself isn't working. I have tried everything from logging out from everywhere to switching devices, I also tried my account on iOS. The issue persists.

Let me elaborate on the issue a little further. Suppose, I search for the "Bohemian Rhapsody" and play it, after the song is finished, Spotify is supposed to play similar songs i.e. Spotify auto-queues similar music. But on my account, that isn't happening.

FYI, Autoplay is turned on. I have tried disabling/enabling "Shuffle". Nothing worked so far. Informed Spotify on Twitter, and they said they couldn't tell how long it'd take to be resolved.

PLEASE HELP.

My Question or Issue

My 1st Spotify account suddenly stopped playing random songs today. Usually, when you search & play one track, after it finished, next it will play a bunch of random tracks that relate to the previous one, isn't it? But today,  when i search and play one song, when it ends, that's it (not playing random tracks anyommore). When i click on the queue it just said "Your queue is empty". It should playing another random tracks as usual.

Meanwhile, my 2nd account, didn't have this issue. It just specific on my 1st. Is this common on free account or what? (i only enjoy Spotify on Google Chrome, never been logged in onto another device)
