[Mobile] Downloaded playlists do not load without an internet connection

Hey folks!

We’ve received multiple reports that Android and iOS users are unable to play downloaded content while using offline mode. You might get stuck on a loading screen or get an error message saying "Something went wrong. Try again?".
This is being looked into.

Hey folks!

Looks like this issue is resolved for everyone so we're marking this OI as Fixed.

Before, when i add songs from my Local Files on my PC to spotify, then downloaded i would get the Green Arrow showing it is downloaded. Then I would click the download button on my Android phone. Now there is no green arrow, the songs will only play on the PC and not on my phone.

On my phone I tried Offline mode, Uninstalling/Reinstalling, using the current version. Logging out on PC version and Phone. it won't show download

I am cautiously optimistic that the issue (in my case, the forever spinning green circle when trying to view a playlist in offline mode) might actually be fixed. I had to do one final online connection. But since then I have not had any issues accessing the playlists. Even after a few days, which is when it would break again. Finger's crossed it stays this way!

Exactly the same for me and for thousands of others . What is the point in having downloads that won’t play offline? THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF DOWNLOADING THEM!! Just been travelling and very very annoyed I couldn’t play anything on a slow train journey. Its pathetic that Spotify still hasn’t fixed this.

I have a playlist which is downloaded.

Sometimes Spotify will tell me "Spotify is offline" and won't play my downloaded playlist.

What is the point of downloading a playlist if Spotify has to be online to play it?

3 Months of many users experiencing the same issue.  No update, no fix, no resolution.  Support here is bad and slow.  I know the monthly cost is low, but why bother, I'd rather go to Pandora than.

@spotify, please fix this. Every time I want to start running, I cannot select my headphones or I see an error message when my AppleWatch is in offline mode.

Hey folks!

To anyone who is still experiencing this issue with Android devices or Apple iPhones - as it is resolved for most folks, we'd like to see the error in action in order to better understand it 🙂
If it's possible for you, we'd like to ask you to send us a video recording of what is happening on your ends.

In case the video is too large for the forum, you can instead upload it to Google Drive/ YouTube etc. and send us a link to it!
Just make sure the access is set to public/ anyone with the link.

Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Note: This Ongoing issue is not regarding Apple watches. For these, follow the troubleshooting steps from this article. If that doesn't help you can open a new thread in the iOS boards and describe your issue. Cheers!
