Recently played artists section not updating

We've been seeing reports from users that the recently played artists on their profile are not updating, while recently played in listening history is working as expected.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all your replies and for the info shared.

It’s been a while since we received your news on this one. We’d like to check if this continues to happen. If yes, we’d recommend you make sure:
  • You’re playing the tracks all the way through.
  • The songs are not part of a playlist you've excluded from your taste profile.
  • You’re not using the Private session feature.
If you’ve checked the above, but this persists, then we’ll need you to be more specific when posting here. That way, our tech team can continue investigating this behavior.

If you encounter this issue, please send us:
  • A video recording in which we can clearly see you’ve taken the steps mentioned above, but this continues. You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can visualize them.
  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you’re running there.
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

My Question or Issue

The recently played artists on my list or others I view are not updating. It seems to have been put back to a list of artists I play a few days ago.

 

I have signed-out, I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, as well as updated the iOS to the latest version, and still it’s not updating for me or others I view. As I said above, it seems to have reverted back to a list of artists I played a few days ago, but not updating with the latest ones I am playing… for me or anyone else I view (who are playing music). It does show my latest music on Listening history, just not on recently played artists.

 

Can anyone help and suggest a solution please?

It's common issue , I've reached out to support ,that's what I got from them:

"Looking backstage, I see that according to latest app feature the recently played is showing the artist that played most."

"Our team is working on that feature so there is some changes temporarily."

"Our team is working on it and soon you'll see the changes."

I deleted the app and reinstalled, no change. It doesn’t register new songs’ artists at the top of the list. It’s completely broken. Is this by new design?
