"Address doesn't match" error when trying to join Family/Duo plans

We've received reports from users who can't join the Family/Duo. An error message "Address doesn't match" is displayed, even when entering the exact same address as the plan manager.

We've looked into the cause of these issues and due to updates made by a third party provider, addresses that were previously available can become unavailable. While this isn't something we're able to change on our end, we discovered it can be resolved if the plan manager updates the address on their account page.

 

In case they can't find their specific address anymore, they can enter the nearest address that can be located. For example, if they can't find their apartment number, they can just select the building instead, or a close landmark, public space or building. They can also try entering the address as a Google Plus code. More info on how it works here.

 

Make sure the country of your Spotify account is set up properly as well.

This issue continues to be a problem for us. I have one family member that was able to join, and 3 other family member that are not able to. I have verified that our addresses are exactly the same and country location is set to the same country (USA).

Isn't there a problem with workaround suggested, if I use building or nearby landmark or public place, isn't it already someone else's address?

Am I not violating your T&C ?

Why is this address verification if everyone keeps address of a well known public place ?

Thank you for the information. unfortunately this still doesn't help. I live in Switzerland and my credit card is Swiss. I just wanted to add my dad, who is currently living at our place, to my family account. It does find the address but says it is wrong. When I check the registered address it is the one I just typed in. What can I do?

Hey @ArchieMoses!

 

I'd recommend re-entering your address on your account page so it's updated. Afterwards, you can send your dad a new invite where he'll just need to confirm the newly updated address.

My Question or Issue

I am adding a member of my family to my plan. When adding the address for verification, it is not recognised. I have tried different browser, incognito... Still not working

I even tried to add a building nearby but it still won't get recognised

Even when my daughter puts in the correct address that is on my account it tells her that the address doesn't match and won't let me create the account for her
