Block complete Internet, but allow spotify – what addresses are to be allowed?

Solved!

Block complete Internet, but allow spotify – what addresses are to be allowed?

Plan - Premium

Country - Germany

Device - multiple

Operating System - Android + Windows 10

My Question or Issue:

Dear community,

Due to endless hours with social media etc. during home schooling, for my kids I blocked the internet and only allowed certain addresses via whitelist during the day.

I also want to allow normal SPOTIFY usage.

As I added “www.spotify.com” to the whitelist the search works normal (on browser and in app).
I also see the title of the chosen song (and I can play it on a network player – that has no firewall rule).

But I would also like to have the songs played on the phone, PC.

What addresses else do I have to allow beside the spotify.com?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hey there @Stephan22

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community, and welcome 🙂

At the moment, Spotify uses dynamic IP-ranges and cloud services that change all the time. In this case, there's not a complete or specific list of addresses that can be whitelisted.

However, some routers or firewalls allow specific app configurations where all network traffic from an app can be enabled. We'd recommend checking if you can configure something like this.

If anything else comes up, we're always a message away.

Cheers!
