Hi @Flyingunicorn,

 

Thanks for creating this thread!

 

In order to see your progress in a given audiobook, open it and check the section right underneath the book cover - this should show you the listening time you have left. When it comes to percentage or pages left indication for example, this is not possible at the moment, however there's an Idea about this which you can vote for in order to show your support.

 

Overall, you should be able to check how much audiobook listening time is left in the plan, as well as how long before your listening hours are renewed with these steps on mobile:

  1. Tap your profile picture.
  2. Under Settings, select Premium plan.
  3. Tap the name of your plan. This shows you the plan overview.
  4. Select Track your included hours and top-ups.

Would you mind checking on your iPhone and iPad?

 

It's also worth mentioning that you can check this info on desktop by logging in to your account page and then under Subscription, select Audiobook Listening Time.

Make sure that you're running the latest Spotify app version and if you're not seeing this info, let us know so we can investigate.

My Question or Issue

The ‘Percent Complete’ of an audiobook disappeared. It was visible on the book’s page but now just shows remaining listen time. I tried clearing the cache, restarting my phone, logging out and back in, deleting the app, and updating the app. Nothing worked. Saw another post that this isn’t a feature, but it definitely is. I have seen others post about it, as well as previously having it on my devices.

I can see how much time is left in my audiobook no problem. As shown in my attached screenshot though in my previous post, the percentage left in the book is definitely a feature. I’m not sure if maybe it’s in beta testing still, but I had the feature a few days ago and when I opened up the audiobook recently, the percent completion was gone. I have seen others post about having this feature as well, at least since January 2024.

I can see in the app that "A Fate Inked In Blood" is actually uploaded as a podcast and not as an audiobook, which may be the reason why you're not seeing the progress bar. Can you check with something that's uploaded as an audiobook and let us know if you're able to see it then?

Hi Elena,
I’m not sure why it’s showing up as a podcast because it definitely shows up as an audiobook on my end (see screenshots). I previously had the percentage bar on this book as well before it disappeared. I’ve attached a screenshot of another book that I found on the audiobook tab. No luck with the percentage bar. 😞

I got the same problem going on when I listen to audio books I can’t see the percentage bar either as it has disappeared for me as well. I have attached a photo below.

Thanks for your replies and for the info shared.

 

In this case, @Flyingunicorn, we suggest you try the following to see if you notice any changes in this behavior:

  • Logging out and logging in twice in a row onto your Spotify account. This could sound a little bit odd, but this way the system will force a resync of your account in general.
  • Clean reinstalling the app. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

If the above doesn't do the trick, (and since you mentioned you already tried those steps @Toystorywhynot_) we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Does this happen when you open your account on a different mobile device? You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.
  • Does this happen no matter what audiobook you choose to play? It'd be awesome if you could share with us the link to the audiobooks in which you noticed this behavior.

Hi

 

i try removing downloads and clearing cache the percentage bar show but for a second and when I exit the app the percentage bar disappeared so I try the step for a safe remove of the app on my phone and iPad and the percentage bar never reappear so unfortunately I’m not sure on what to do next

  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Does this happen when you open your account on a different mobile device? You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.
  • Does this happen no matter what audiobook you choose to play? It'd be awesome if you could share with us the link to the audiobooks in which you noticed this behavior.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?

Hello, I have an iPhone 15, running iOS 17.4
spotify version: 8.9.50.491.
It was working on my iPad but when I opened my Spotify on my phone, the app glitched and it disappeared. I have not had it appear since even after restarting it. I have tried it on another phone as well, no percentage complete appears. I’m have an  iPhone 11 iOS 17.5.1

Spotify version 8.9.50

same thing happens on my iPad with the percentage bar not appearing.

i have an iPad (10th generation)    iOS is 17.5.1 Spotify version 8.9.50

It happens no matter what audiobook I play

It doesn’t seem to work when I try a other iPhone device.

I still have the same problem  still happening 

my app version is 8.9.54.343

 

hopefully this problem gets resolved

It looks like you're not running the latest version of the app. In this case, we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your devices to see if that makes the difference.

I’ve performed a clean reinstall and am now on version 8.9.58.473. Still no percentage bar unfortunately.

I performed a clean reinstall on both my phone and iPad and there is still no percentage bar on both devices
