Car spotify app re-enables repeating of songs

Easy steps to reproduce:
1. While your car is turned off atleast 30 minutes, start spotify on your phone, repeating of songs is turned off (autoplay is turned on), start any song and make sure you can press Next to start any random new song.
2. Keep your phone spotify app open and get into your car and open spotify (it will open automatically if spotify was the last media source when you driven), the song will start playing in car instead.
3. BUG: Already now you can see that repeating of songs was re-enabled on your phone. If you try to disable repeating on your phone (because volvo sensus spotify app does not have this button), it will switch back to repeating within 2-3 seconds.

The only remedy to actually turn off repeating of the songs was:
4. Switch to Radio in car, wait for song to start playing on your phone. Now you can finally turn off repeating of the songs on your phone.
5. Make sure to press Next in phone spotify app and wait for new random song to start playing.
6. Switch back to Spotify in car
7. Now the songs are finally in non-repeating mode and you can press Next button in your car and new random song will start playing.

8. Notice also that repeating button on your phone is greyed-out and you can't press it like you could in step 3.

If you don't do step 5, it will still have the bug and re-enable repeating, step 7 and 8 are not valid in that case.

Therefore, it feels like the volvo spotify app assumes you wish to have repeating enabled if it detects the same song two times in a row (just a wild guess because step 5 actually fixes this.)

Hello!

I have a Volvo Xc40 with the sensus infotainment system. It has a built in Spotify app, which gives me a headache. When I am playing any track, and want to browse an album or playlist to for other songs, it switches to the first track od that playlist, immediatly when I click the playlist icon. Shouldn't I be able to browse any playlist while the one track is playing without interuption? 

I have tried loggning in to different accounts and reinstalled the app. I cant find much settings to experiment woth either.

I tried all steps, but on step 4 the audio doesnt start playing by itself on my phone app, it just get paused when I switch to radio in the car. I need to push play in the phone app, and even though i switch to next song in my phone app, the repeat button is active when I switch back to spotify in my car.  It doesnt get grayed out. All the other info you posted seems to work as you describe it. 

Any clue what I am doing wrong?
