My Question or Issue

I've been using the AI DJ, but I've noticed that after a while, when the DJ is supposed to talk, the app will just sit there and do nothing.  Sometimes it recovers and starts playing music again, and other times I have to fast forward to get past that state.  Once in a great while I need to actually start over (and during which the DJ plays the same music that he's already played today).

Hello @wonkothesane,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community!

If DJ doesn't work properly, but then it fixes itself after some time/actions then it may be a good idea to give the app a clean reinstall if you haven't already. It often helps when Spotify doesn't function properly, as well as includes steps to clear the cache which can also cause issues when it's corrupted. You can follow the steps in this help article.

Additionally, you can test with a different network connection (for example mobile data shared via hotspot) and let us know if the same behavior persists across devices.

We'll be on the lookout.

As I stated, this happens on Open Spotify (the web browser).  I am not allowed to install the app on my work computer.

Hey @wonkothesane,

Thanks for the reply and the clarification!

Since you're using the Web Player, I'd recommend making sure your browser's up-to-date and clearing cache and flushing DNS:

  • At the bottom left corner of desktop, type 'cmd' in the Start menu's search bar, and press Enter.
  • Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in the Command Prompt, and press Enter.
  • You will be prompted with a message that you have successfully completed it.
  • Restart the Spotify app

Another thing you can try as well is opening the Web Player in a different browser and in an incognito window to see if the same issue occurs there as well.

You also mentioned that you aren't allowed to download the Spotify app on your PC, but you can try downloading it on a mobile device instead, if available, or log in to your account on a friend or relative's device just to test this out and check if it happens there as well.

Keep us posted.
