My Question or Issue

I recently discovered audiobooks on Spotify and got hooked. I didn't want it messing up the Daylist (which I used very frequently) so I added them to a playlist and made sure to click the "exclude from taste profile option." It worked for awhile and my Daylist behaved normally, but I think one day I accidentally listened to an audio drama that was outside my playlist and ever since my Daylist has been stuck on "audiobook radio drama late night."

I've tried logging out and in, updating the app, and reinstalling but it's still stuck. I wouldn't care that much if it only changed to the audiobook list at night,  but it's literally been stuck on this exact playlist for the past few weeks at all hours of the day.

I really miss being able to see what weird title and songs it chose for me throughout my day. The daily mixes are fine, but the Daylist is the first Spotify generated playlist that I used constantly every day. Hopefully someone can point me to a solution. I've scoured the internet and come up completely empty.

Hi there @scniab,

Thanks for reaching out!

If you stayed on your daylist through the “next update at” time, it won’t refresh on its own. It'd be great if you can try to navigate away and come back, as well as listen to some new tracks in the meantime to see if it updates. If you have another device available, can you test out if you see an updated daylist title there? It's also worth clearing the app's cache by following the steps here.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Clearing the cache worked! Thank you so much!!

I think the new Daylist feature is a great idea in principle, but I’m experiencing a major issue with it, which I believe might be a fundamental problem with the algorithm.

About four weeks ago, I listened to an audiobook in the evening – it was the second and last time I’ve ever done that. Recently, the Daylist feature was activated for my account. While it initially suggests appropriate music, like Drum-and-Bass at 8:00 PM, the next refresh suddenly offers completely random content, such as audiobooks, exam preparations, story narrations, and similar items.

Just now, my playlist started with „Kapitel 26: Abenteuer im Geisterschloss“ – something I’ve never listened to.

also, can you please make the "hide" feature available on desktop and web?
Honestly it is soooo annoying.

Here is a screenshot of the "Daylist".

The Spotify Daylist Playlist is generally an excellent feature that curates music tailored to my listening habits and matches different times of the day. However, I frequently encounter an issue where the Daylist includes chapters from audiobooks. These are not music and significantly disrupt the listening experience. Additionally, the selection of these chapters seems entirely random and unrelated to the playlist's purpose.
Impact: The inclusion of audiobook chapters breaks the flow of the playlist, which is designed for music enjoyment.
I expect the Daylist to include music only. Audiobook chapters should not be automatically added to playlists intended for music.
