[Desktop][Other] bring back finding the source of the current song playing!

previously on Spotify for desktop, when you clicked the song artwork of the current song playing in the corner, it would take you to where the songs were playing from- a playlist, a song radio, artist radio, playlist radio, songs similar to, etc.

This was super useful because if Spotify started playing really good songs that went well together, I'd click it and find where it came from, then either like it to save, or add them to a playlist. This feature was removed with an update and now when you click the song image, it takes you to that song's artists page or album. We can find that out by clicking the song title or artist name so you removed a really useful feature for no reason. Bring it back!!

Heads-up: we've moved your post to the Help board, as what you're suggesting is already present in the app.

 

We tested on our end and clicking on the cover art for the track did take us to the playlist / album / artist radio / artist page it's playing from. Could you let us know the following:

  • Your device's operating system.
  • The version of Spotify you're running.

Feel free to also share what troubleshooting you've done so far so we avoid repeating the steps. In case you haven't already, try reinstalling the app by following the steps here.

 

If possible, a short screen recording which shows the app's behavior would also be greatly appreciated. That way we can get a clear understanding of what's happening on your end.
