Garmin Spotify App - Updating downloads not mark podcasts as "finished"

My Question or Issue

I have a Garmin Fenix 7 with the Spotify app installed.

I have a playlist that I sync to my Garmin watch called "Garmin Watch Podcasts" and as the name suggests, it includes podcasts.
I listen these podcasts while on longer, slower runs.

On returning home, I use the "Update downloads" options in the "library" to update the playlists on my watch.

My expectation is that executing this should not only add and remove songs and podcasts from the playlists that I have chosen to sync, but also update my listening history and marked completed podcasts as "finished".

However, podcasts are never marked as finished when updating downloads.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Hey there @saji,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. 

Keep in mind that the "Update Downloads" button refreshes the downloaded content, but does not remove anything you've already listened to. You should use the "remove" button for that. 

It's also expected that the listening history will not update right away, as the watch is used to listen to offline content. Same thing with the completion of the podcasts, although it should sync with the mobile app and you should be able to see it correctly if both the watch and mobile app were connected while you were running.

Does the Spotify app on my Garmin watch periodically send this data back to Spotify servers?

So, I haven't tested podcasts, by music listening history does sync when you use the "Update downloads" button in the Garmin Watch Spotify app (tested it today).

I'll try podcasts later today or tomorrow.

Just tried listening to a podcast on my Garmin Watch.I

t shows up in my listening history when I check via "Recents" after running the "Update downloads" feature on the watch.

However, it does not mark the podcast episode as played.
