My Question or Issue

Other Spotify users are able to access and play playlists that I have removed from my profile, and that are marked private - I have tested this several times and cannot work out why this is happening. From my end, the playlists are private, but a third party yesterday accessed and played a playlist of mine that is still marked private. How is this happening and how can I stop this? Thanks!

Hey there @j-s17_ygbdjpo,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, are the playlists being played by someone else on your account (and it interrupts your own music listening)? If so, we recommend that you log out from all devices, just to be on the safe side. This is to ensure you're the only one with access to your account.

First, make sure to update your password by heading over to this page. Once it's done, simply follow these steps to log out of all devices and web pages:

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Under Security and privacy, select Sign out everywhere.
  3. Click Sign out everywhere.

Keep in mind that this doesn't include partner devices (e.g. speakers, games consoles, and TVs), so for those go to Manage apps and choose REMOVE ACCESS.

Should you experience that other Spotify accounts and users are adding music to your playlists, and not from your own account, it's possible that the playlist is set to Collaborative. In this case, you can try removing any collaborators to see if you notice a difference. You can check the steps here.

Hope this helps! We'll be right here if you need anything else.
