My Question or Issue

I had a playlist of devotional songs that I used to play on Alexa everyday morning., Recently I noticed Alexa stopped playing the songs, thought it was connection issue and tried to re-add it but turns out the playlist has disappeared from my library.

This is not the first time I am seeing the issue couple of my playlist disappeared as well but fortunately I created a backup of those but not this one isnt.

Hey @arunsubramanian,

Thanks for posting in the forum and welcome to the Community!

A playlist shouldn't just disappear from you library, so let's see the possible reasons why you're unable to play it.

To start and if the playlist was created by you (and removed by mistake for example), I recommend checking in case you can recover it from your Account Page and for the correct steps, take a look at this help article.

Keep in mind, however that if it was a Spotify-created playlist instead or you were following it and it was created by another user, but removed, you won't be able to restore it in this situation.

Hope this info helps and keep us posted.

Hi Ivelina,

Yeah I did check the playlist recovery page, it says no deleted playlists

"You haven’t deleted any playlists"

Also this is a private playlist created by me about couple of years back, I haven't added any new songs to this since then.

Hi @arunsubramanian,

Thanks for the reply.

Can you confirm that this playlist is not visible across all devices anymore? What about the web player? If you can find a link to such a playlist, such as if you sent it to a friend, try opening it from there. You also mentioned that this has happened before. Have you noticed any pattern as to how this happens? Is it after a period of inactivity, after using a specific device or is it just sporadic? As @Ivelina said, playlists shouldn't disappear on their own, so there must be something making changes.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Joan, Yes the play list is not available on spotify on mac, ios, and on web i didnt check the other platforms. I dont see a pattern other than the playlists that disappeared are 3 most frequently listened one in my library like almost daily.

Hey @arunsubramanian,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

To continue investigating this behavior, it would be great if you could send us the link/URI or the name of the playlist to take a better look. Since it's no longer available in Your library, you can check if you shared the link previously with someone else as mentioned by @Joan.

Also, to check if your Alexa was playing someone else's playlist (with the same name) by mistake, would you mind confirming if you were playing your own playlist from Your library using Connect to cast it to your Alexa? or if by the contrary you were using voice commands to play it? We ask this because if it was someone else's playlist, it's possible that the user deleted it and that's why it's no longer available for you and is not in the "recovering" section.

We'll be waiting for your response.
