My Question or Issue
I started listening to a new podcast and downloaded the first 2 episodes, no problem. This morning i downloaded episode 3 and 4. Episode 3 played for 10 minutes, and then nothing. Episode 4 doesn't play at all. When i checked i saw e3 only downloaded a little bit and e4 didn't download at all.
They won't play when i stream on wifi or data. I cleared cache, reinstalled the app, but nothing works.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
Everything was working fine for me yesterday and then this morning I get no sound when trying to listen to podcasts. Music seems to work fine. Pixel 6a running android 14 with January security patch.
Hey folks,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?
If so, and the issue persists, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
We'll be on the lookout.
- did the clean reinstall
- version 8.9.12.599 (latest version in the app store)
- i tried another device, problem stays the same
Hey @Jns13,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
In this case, we'd recommend making sure you have enough storage space on your mobile device. We recommend at least 1GB of free memory.
On another note, do you notice this is happening when trying to download episodes from a specific podcast? Or does it happen no matter on which podcast you try to download content? If this is happening on a specific podcast, please send us the link to the episodes with issues. You can do it by following the steps in this article.
Lastly, and just to confirm, do you use any cache-clearing or task-killing apps? Take into account that these apps can affect the performance of the app. We'd suggest not using it for a couple of days to see if you notice any difference.
