Random users connected to my firetv

I am on holidays in France and brought my firetv with us. Over the last 48 hrs 3 random people have connected to Spotify and logged in on my firetv. I receive no prompt, and its a serious concern that a random person can connect to my device and login. How can I shut this down.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

We can confirm that if your Fire TV is connected to a WiFi network, anyone connected to that same network will be able to start playback from their own Spotify account to that device. For more info about the Connect feature, take a look at this article.

In this case, we suggest using a private network to prevent this from happening. 

On another note, as a workaround, you can try setting parental controls on your Fire TV by here to see if that helps.

You can also have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea so that other users can also support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

In the age of rampant ransonware, I'm surprised this cannot be switched off. There should be at least some additional methods of authentication / pin. 

Effectively your system would allow a random person to connect to my fire tv and stream whatever they want into my setting. imagine I am running a kindergarden, and someone connects and blasts explicit music into the classroom!

I find it strange that people have been having this issue for the longest while and still no resolution on this. I share a building with other people, we are all on the same wifi and someone else's account keeps popping up on my tv. No matter what I do it keeps coming back. This seems to be a known issue on shared wifis and spotify won't provide a resolution
