Remove or block specific podcasts

Remove or block specific podcasts

Why is there not a method to remove a podcast from ever being recommended again? I've accidentally blocked songs before when I just wanted to remove it from a specific playlist, but when I have exhausted all ways available of unsubscribing, marking unplayed, etc, I still get some dumb*ss youtuber influencer's "podcast" where he's just watching videos???? On a platform for listening, you have it autoplay a guy watching videos?

I have never consciously watched Oompaville. It showed up in my recommendations as "similar" to things I listen to. It's not, but I clicked on it, or subscribed, or something, and now I can't get rid of it. Why can I not block this? Why am I plagued with this popping up in the autoplay every other day? I don't want to see this idiots face staring at a screen ever again.

Hey @kalon343,

Thanks for reaching out!
We can see how frustrating such a situation with no immediate solution can be.

Likeminded users have posted these two Live Ideas that you may be interested in:

Note: If you've subscribed to the podcast, you may also cancel that subscription:
An unsubscribe link can be found in the monthly charge confirmation email you get each month. The subject line of the confirmation email would be Monthly subscription confirmation for Oompaville.

Note: If you've followed the podcast instead, you may go to Your Episodes -> filter by Podcasts & Shows -> Find the podcast -> select the three dots -> Stop Following 🙂

Should this only be an issue with your recommendations though, I'd suggest giving the algorithm a bit more time and listening to more of your podcasts while doing that, as this will alter your currently saved preferences.

Hope this helps!

My problem is that I can't even remove the podcast or listen to it, I try to open it but it says

"Something went wrong"

I have 12 podcasts that are like that

Hey @Dreamyy_ghoul__,

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

In this case, we'd like to gather as much info as possible. Which devices does this behavior occur on? Does it occur on the desktop, on the mobile app or on both platforms? Have you tried using the Web Player instead to see if there's a difference?

Would you mind trying to stream a completely different podcast (not one of those 12 that are affected) and see if you'll still experience this?

On another note, could you please let us know what troubleshooting you've tried so far? This'll help us avoid repeating steps.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.
