Repeat turns on automatically

My repeat button constantly turns itself on when playing a playlist with phone turned off. I will physically turn off repeat, play a playlist, lock phone & work for a little, just to notice my song repeated. Open phone, sure enough repeat button is on. This happens consistently throughout my day. There’s been days I’ve had to physically turn off the repeat button over ten times in one listening session. Obviously not me turning it on accidentally, this happens with my phone turned off (locked).

Thanks for reaching out! This is quite the odd behaviour.

Does this change occur when the playlist you're listening to changes or within the same playlist as well?
As a starting troubleshooting step, let's see if removing the cached data from the device would make a difference.
Taking things a step further, you can also try performing a complete clean reinstall of the app. Just take note that doing these actions will also temporarily remove your offline content. It will re-download the next time you open the app, in accordance to your data download settings.

This occurs when playing the same playlist. I’ll play my playlist, lock my phone, then when I check it later and open Spotify, the repeat button is on, without fail. It happens when my phone is locked. 

I already cleared cache and it still occurs, will try the reinstall.
