My Question or Issue

When I share a collaborative playlist link to my Facebook group, the link preview shows as "page not found". The link appears to work, and the playlist is valid. I tried both sharing to FB directly and copying/pasting the link, and I tried it on Chrome & Firefox on my laptop and Chrome on my iPhone. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hey @LPERLSTE,

Facebook caches metadata for links, so if the link was posted before and its preview failed, the cached version may persist. We suggest opening the Facebook Sharing Debugger and clicking Scrape Again to refresh the cache. After that, try sharing the link again and see if the preview shows correctly.

Just FYI, we've tried sharing a collaborative playlist invite on our end and it works as expected.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Hi there @LPERLSTE,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll gladly help you share the music!

Could you test if the preview works correctly when sharing the normal playlist link? The collaborative invitation is only meant for that, for users to join in as collaborators and if you want to share the playlist itself, the normal link that never expires should be used. Test this out and let us know, this will help us narrow down the behaviour.

Keep us posted.

Hi Joan, thanks for the response. I tried simply sharing the playlist, and it also shows as "page not found." I tried making the playlist Public, and that didn't matter. I'm trying to share the collaborative playlist in a Facebook group so that my high school class can contribute to the playlist. I've seen others do this, and it worked. Any other suggestions?

Hi @LPERLSTE,

Thanks for the reply.

You mentioned in the original post that this is the same across all devices and browsers, correct? Is this the same for all users who try to open the link? And does opening the link not work too or is it only the preview that appears as Not Found?

Let us know how it goes.

The link works as far as I can tell. It’s the preview that’s missing. I guess I can post a pic and eliminate the need for the preview but it would be nice if this worked.

Hi, that fixed it. Not sure what that was all about but now it's fine. Thanks!
