My Question or Issue

Hi everyone,

So my problem is with the equalizer in the Spotify app. On Xiaomi devices, you can customize equalizer settings within the app itself, however on Samsung devices, when I want to customize my EQ, it takes me to the sound settings of the phone, not the app. On my Xiaomi phone, I used the Normal preset with the Surround setting maxed out and the Bass Boost at almost 100%. No matter how I change the EQ settings on the Samsung phone, my earbuds (Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro) sound way worse than with the Xiaomi since there is no bass boost or surround settings on Samsung, even though Samsung supports SSC audio codec (similar to LDAC) while Xiaomi only supports AAC, the difference is still huge.

Is there a way to copy and paste my EQ settings from one phone to another?

Have a nice day!

(Sorry for my bad English)

Hey @GyurMaGyuri,

Welcome to the Spotify Community! Apologies for the late reply, I just came by your post.

Spotify's EQ is dependent on your device's manufacturer and the ROM they use, I'm afraid. Some devices might not have it and tapping the option in Settings will open the manufacturer's EQ instead.

As for copying over your EQ settings, I don't think it's possible. Samsung has a Wearable app which you can use with the Buds2 Pro and it offers separate EQ presets in addition to the ones in your device's settings, but they still don't feature the bass boost and surround sound sliders you mentioned. Still, it's worth giving them a try, if you haven't already, as they might improve the sound and bring it to your liking.

Cheers!
